T H E R B B S - P C N E T W O R K
(RBBS-Net)
This file will let you know what files need to be changed in
order to convert your RBBS-Net System over to Zone 8! This
is important that we all convert over to Zone Aware Support
as soon as possible in order to comply with The RBBS-Net Standard
Network Interface which is being developed.
Binkley.CFG - Change 'Zone 1' to 'Zone 8'
Remove Statement 'NoZone'
MD <Hold Path> + .001 (For Zone 1 Data)
ie. C:\Binkley\Outbound.001
Config.DOG - Change 'Node 1:xxx/x' to 'Node 8:xxx/x'
(This is only if you use the Config.DOG File)
* Do not change any of your AKA Statements ... they assume the
Zone Number that the callers is using ... which will not cause
a problem.
Parselst.CFG - Add 'UseZone' Statement
Change 'Node 1:xxx/x' to 'Node 8:xxx/x'
Add Password Statements for any node that are
calling your system for whatever Zone they
really are. The Password Statement and Phone
Statements do support the Zone Information.
Add Phone Statements for any node that you are
calling from your system to ensure they are
identified by the proper Zone and Node Number.
RBBSLIST.297 - This file is the RBBS-Net Zone 8 Region 8 Node
List as of today.
RBBSPACK.ARC - This program which was written by Jim Oswell and
and myself will partially replace your oMMM
program. The program is completely ZONE AWARE
and will allow you to send mail to your Zone
plus any other Zone which you may have traffic
for.
AreaFix.CTL - Change 'Address 1:xxx/x' to 'Address 8:xxx/x'
Caution: If you change over to Zone support -- your nodes that call
you must do so too. Until they do ... they will not be able
to pick up mail on account it will be putting there .HLO and
ARChive Files into the Zone 8 Outbound Directory.
For those of you that are in need of a Zone Aware Packer Program ... you will need to use a program called: RBBSPACK
Watch for it ... we hope to have it released soon.
Please forward any questions that you may have to me so I can help
as best that I can.
Good luck!
